76 Many calendars are used in Madagascar during several periods of history. The first is the calendar of first Vazimba; it is basis of Sanskrit system: season and agricultural preoccupation. The last group of Vazimba migrants who are mixed with merchants Muslims, adopt Arab calendar for easier for use for everyone. The kings are reorganized politically their kingdoms about this new calendar since XV è century. The two system are used now by many foko in Madagascar. They reflect the wealth of culture and history of malagasy people. So, they can celebrate the traditional New-Year to follow their habit of regional customs.
