Intertextual and intercultural study of rumor as a means of social integration in Mahajanga

RAZAMANY Guy

2 A rumor had arisen in Mahajanga in 1981, it consists in saying that he had a monster to circumcise a small antandroy boy in the night. She studies us from the perspective of structural anthropology and intertext so that she can identify her variances of social meanings in this city at the time. The Antandroy are among the Malagasy ethnic groups migrating from the northwest coast of Madagascar in order to seek their fortune. They are from the south of this country. They are made up of several clans; among these clans, there is a clan that does not practice circumcision as an ancestral tradition, while many of the Malagasy populations practice this rite of passage in human life. This is how the non-practice of circumcision was the source of social exclusion and the stigmatization of all the antandroy communities in Mahajanga.
