213 This article reviews the lessons learned from the development activities initiated by the Reformed Church FJKM Atsimon'Imahamasina in Tsihombe, one of the poorest localities in Madagascar. Intended to be inclusive and participatory through a series of consultations, the approach initially mobilized failed. The effective involvement of the local population in the various activities was lacking. This observation led the stakeholders to review the approach by relying more on the research-action method and the notion of social faith. The reorientation of the approach made it possible to initiate a holistic development process. The mission of evangelization and the launching of a development process in Tsihombe are already bearing fruit. The local population and especially the Basic Ecclesial Community are more proactive and begin to feel responsible for the development process according to local contexts, through their efforts and the mobilization of their resources.
