Integration regionale et internationalisation : cas des entreprises malgaches

ANDRIAMASIMANANA ORIGENE Olivier

16 Malagasy economic operators are, in general, passive with regard to the various opportunities that exist within the framework of the regional communities (IOC, SADC, COMESA, IORA), of which Madagascar is a member. There are several reasons for these contradictory phenomena, notably the notions of psychological distance, risk and insularity, according to the results of exploratory interviews conducted with some Malagasy business leaders. In this case, the selection of countries to target and the adoption of a market development strategy are very important in order to facilitate the internationalization of SMEs in the above-mentioned communities. In any case, Malagasy exporters or those who have the desire to practice this profession have interest to group together in order to reduce the lack of knowledge at the level of the targeted markets. And in relation to this handicap, the setting up of a community of exporters would be essential in order to relaunch the Malagasy export activities and to increase the level of integration of the operators of the big Island at the level of these regional groupings.
