120 This work is based on a master's thesis in Hispanic studies. It aims to demonstrate that one work can create another, so a translation session – in our case of Cuentos de la Selva written by Horacio Quiroga– could become a study in the role of storytelling. As part of the subject of studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences; our research is interdisciplinary and of empirical-inductive methodology. This work results from the rediscovery of translation techniques and the reinstatement of the role of storytelling through literary analysis. Our goal was to reach a wider audience with practical and useful examples for the education of the child. Our work is presented in three main parts: the author and the book, the work of translation and the roles of the storytelling. The storytelling plays an important role in the growth of the child. The translator plays both the role of facilitator and pedagogue.
